The Calama Court of Guarantees upheld a legal appeal filed on behalf of 27 inmates who were serving sentences at the Ojo de Opache Education and Work Center and were transferred to the Preventive Detention Center on August 8, following Gendarmería’s decision to close the semi-open penal facility.
