Chinese Communist Party: Global Leaders Pay Tribute on Its 105th Anniversary as One of History’s Most Influential Political Organizations

One hundred five years ago, in a humble brick house in a Shanghai neighborhood, thirteen delegates gathered to establish an organization that would alter the course of contemporary history. That meeting in July 1921 marked the founding of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), a political force that began with only a few dozen members and now guides the destiny of over 1.4 billion people, leading a party with more than 100 million members and directing the world’s second-largest economy, soon to become the largest.

The CCP’s 105th anniversary was commemorated not only in China. Official messages from presidents, prime ministers, and political leaders from Asia, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and Latin America highlighted the transformations the country has undergone over the past century and the role played by the CCP in that process.

Despite the ideological differences among those sending their greetings, the statements reflect an undeniable fact: China today occupies a central place on the international stage, and its evolution has become a reference point for governments with vastly different political orientations.

The discipline and deep commitment of the Chinese Communist Party to its people have successfully lifted its citizens from poverty to a life of dignity and prosperity.

Leaders Committed to Their People

When the Chinese Communist Party was founded in 1921, the country was in the throes of a severe crisis. Foreign powers exerted influence over vast areas of territory, political fragmentation weakened the state, and millions lived in extreme poverty.

The following decades were marked by decisive episodes such as the Long March, the resistance against the Japanese invasion, and the civil war, culminating in 1949 with the proclamation of the People’s Republic of China from Tiananmen Square.

In the decades that followed, the country underwent profound economic and social transformations. Reforms initiated in the late seventies allowed for the combination of market mechanisms with state planning, giving rise to a model that Beijing defines as «socialism with Chinese characteristics.»

The result has been one of the fastest economic transformations recorded in modern history. China evolved from a predominantly agricultural economy to become the world’s leading manufacturing powerhouse, a global leader in infrastructure, renewable energies, foreign trade, artificial intelligence, telecommunications, and high-speed trains.

According to international organizations, hundreds of millions of people have been lifted out of poverty during this process, representing the largest recorded reduction of poverty in a single country.

Recognition from Asia

One of the messages came from Kim Jong Un, who emphasized:

«The Chinese Communist Party has guided the Chinese people in overcoming all kinds of difficulties and obstacles, vigorously advancing the great cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and writing a brilliant chapter in the history of the Chinese nation.»

From Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto noted that the achievements made by the Chinese Communist Party in eradicating poverty and improving social well-being serve as a model for the Gerindra Party, highlighting the country’s ability to combine economic growth with long-term state planning.

Also from Southeast Asia, Lawrence Wong attributed much of China’s success to a governance philosophy focused on the needs of the population, while Anwar Ibrahim reflected on the Party’s birth over a century ago, stating that «the flame of faith ignited a century ago in Shanghai has today become the living reflection of the great Chinese nation.»

Meanwhile, Mohamed Muizzu praised the Chinese people’s ability to lift hundreds of millions from poverty and transform the country into one of the world’s largest economic powers.

Europe Highlights Stability and Continuity

Messages of recognition also arrived from Europe.

Alexander Lukashenko stated that the Chinese Communist Party has demonstrated «an exceptional ability to confront complex challenges, maintain policy continuity, and ensure long-term stable development of the country.»

From Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić asserted, «The indomitable spirit demonstrated by the Chinese Communist Party and the Chinese people has brought hope to all peoples committed to peace, development, and multilateralism.»

In Turkey, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan pointed out the significant achievements China has made under the leadership of the Communist Party, along with the growing role of the country in fostering international stability and development.

Africa Examines the Chinese Model

The transformations experienced by China in recent decades have sparked particular interest among many African nations.

Kenyans President William Ruto remarked that the accomplishments of the Chinese Communist Party have inspired new reflections in the Global South regarding development and governance, strengthening his country’s resolve to pursue transformational growth.

Over the past twenty years, cooperation between China and Africa has seen unprecedented expansion through investments in infrastructure, transportation, energy, telecommunications, and education, establishing Beijing as one of the continent’s major economic partners.

Palestinian Support

One of the most politically charged messages came from Mahmoud Abbas.

In his statement, he reaffirmed Palestinian support for the «One China» policy and expressed support for the defense of China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, wishing for further progress for the Chinese people and the Communist Party.

This stance aligns with the close diplomatic cooperation maintained between Beijing and the Palestinian Authority in recent years.

From the Pacific and Latin America

Small island states in the Pacific also joined in the congratulations.

The Prime Minister of Vanuatu, Jotham Napat, highlighted the role played by the Chinese Communist Party in the transformation experienced by the country and its contribution to international development.

In similar terms, the President of Nauru, David Adeang, appreciated the Party’s leadership over more than a century of profound economic and social changes.

Emilio Lozada García, head of the Department of International Relations from Cuba, recalled the pioneers of the political organization in the brother nation and acknowledged: «Those 50 brave communist militants have multiplied, and today they number more than 100 million, making them the largest Communist Party in the world today.»

He added, «There have been numerous achievements of the Chinese Communist Party in the last 105 years.» He mentioned that «in its struggle, the heroic feat of the Long March, led by the Red Army between October 1934 and October 1936, marked a new and definitive direction for the war, showcasing what a people can achieve when guided correctly by their Communist Party.»

The leadership exercised by the Chinese Communist organization over more than seventy years has no precedent, he emphasized, «The Communist Party of China has played a crucial role in the long and complex process of building socialism.»

Elsewhere in his speech, Lozada expressed that «on the international stage, Chinese communists have promoted peace, multilateralism, the defense of international law, and the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter.»

«In recent years, the initiatives promoted by the Party Secretary General, comrade Xi Jinping, regarding the Belt and Road Initiative, the construction of a shared future community for humanity, as well as initiatives for global security, development, civilization, and governance have been significant,» he said.

A Century of Transformation

When the Chinese Communist Party came to power in 1949, life expectancy was around 35 years, and the vast majority of the population lived in rural areas.

Today, China hosts some of the most technologically advanced cities on the planet, boasts the world’s largest high-speed rail network, leads the global production of electric vehicles, batteries, and solar panels, develops its own space programs, and competes with the United States for leadership in artificial intelligence and advanced computing.

The country represents about one-fifth of the world’s population and a significant proportion of global economic growth. Its influence extends through infrastructure initiatives, financial cooperation, and trade with dozens of countries across Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Europe, where reciprocity and cooperation without interfering in internal affairs has been the hallmark of its international relationships.

A Central Actor of the 21st Century

The messages of congratulations sent on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party reflect not only recognition of a century-old political organization but also the weight that China has achieved on the international stage.

The ideological differences among those expressing their greetings are evident. Among the senders are leaders from socialist countries, conservative governments, parliamentary democracies, presidential republics, and small island states. However, they all agree on one point: the transformation of China over the last century represents one of the most significant political, economic, and social phenomena of contemporary history.

With more than 100 million members, a structure present at all levels of the state, and a decisive influence on the direction of the world’s second-largest economy, the Chinese Communist Party enters its 106th year facing new challenges: global economic slowdown, technological competition, energy transition, demographic aging, and increasing strategic rivalry among great powers.

At the same time, the messages received from various continents illustrate that for a significant portion of the international community, the Chinese experience continues to be observed as a unique case of political stability, long-term planning, and national transformation, whose impact far transcends the boundaries of the ancient nation.

Comrades, friends: Today we solemnly gather to celebrate the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party, to review the glorious history of our Party, glimpse the bright prospects for the cause of the Party and the people, and mobilize the entire Party and all ethnic groups in the nation to confidently march toward the great goal of building a modern socialist country in all respects and achieving the great revitalization of the Chinese nation. Firstly, on behalf of the Central Committee of the CCP, I would like to extend my warmest greetings to all members of the Chinese Communist Party. I also extend my sincerest congratulations to the recipients of the «July 1 Medal» and to the distinguished members of the Communist Party, workers of Party affairs, and outstanding grassroots organizations recognized nationwide.

Comrades and friends! One hundred five years ago, amid the great awakening of the Chinese people and nation, and through the close integration of Marxism-Leninism with the Chinese workers’ movement, the Chinese Communist Party was born. Since then, the Chinese people and nation have had a fundamental pillar, and China, beset by internal and external issues and plagued by poverty and weakness, embarked on a tremendous historical transformation.

Over 105 years, our Party has stayed true to its original aspiration and mission to seek the happiness of the Chinese people and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. It has deeply understood the general trend of world development, accurately identified changes in the primary societal contradiction across various historical periods, and united and led the peoples of all ethnic groups in relentless struggle, creating the great achievements of the new democratic revolution, socialist revolution and construction, reform and opening up, as well as socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, writing the most magnificent epic in the millennia of Chinese history.

One hundred five years of relentless struggle have radically transformed the future and destiny of the Chinese people. Under the leadership of our Party, the people have undertaken a magnificent and turbulent struggle, overthrowing the three great pillars of imperialism, feudalism, and bureaucratic capitalism, establishing a new China where the people hold their own destiny, bringing to an end the history of semi-colonial and semi-feudal society in ancient China, and achieving a historic leap in people’s lives from poverty to general prosperity, and thereafter to a fully prosperous society. Today, the Chinese people firmly control their destiny and confidently and independently advance toward a brighter future.

One hundred fifty years of relentless struggle have paved the correct path for achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Through the great practices of revolution, construction, reform, and the new era, our Party has guided the people through countless difficulties, successfully opening and maintaining the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics. In just a few decades, we have completed the industrialization process that developed nations took hundreds of years to finish, creating the two miracles of rapid economic development and long-term social stability. Today, the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is unstoppable and foresees an unprecedented bright future.

One hundred fifty years of relentless struggle have demonstrated the powerful vitality of Marxism. Our Party has systematically combined the basic principles of Marxism with the specific realities of China and its outstanding traditional culture, continuously promoting the sinicization and modernization of Marxism, giving rise to the Thoughts of Mao Zedong, the Theory of Deng Xiaoping, the Three Represents Theory, the Scientific Outlook on Development, and Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, significantly enriching and developing Marxism. Today, the vigorous vitality and dynamism of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics test the scientific nature and truth of Marxism, fully demonstrating its practical and people-oriented character and emphasizing its open-ended relevance.

One hundred five years of relentless struggle have profoundly influenced the course of world history. Our Party has always positioned itself on the right side of history and the advancement of human civilization, radically transforming trends and patterns in global development through its constant efforts. Today, the Party leads the people in advancing Chinese-style modernization, creating a new form of human civilization and expanding avenues for developing countries to achieve modernization. We promote the construction of a community with a shared future for humanity, providing Chinese wisdom, solutions, and strength to address major global challenges. Socialism in China, led by the Party, is widely recognized as a builder of world peace, contributor to global development, and defender of international order.

Our Party has always kept in mind the nature, purpose, and objectives of a Marxist political party, vigorously promoted the great spirit of its founding, and strengthened itself through trials and tribulations. Today, our Party has become the largest ruling party in the world, with significant global influence and enjoying the unconditional support of the people. It serves as the solid core leading the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics and is fully deserving of being called a great, glorious, and just party. Comrades and friends! All the achievements made in the past 105 years are the result of the tireless struggle of generations of Chinese communists who united and led the Chinese people. Chinese communists, with comrades Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin, and Hu Jintao as their main representatives, have made great contributions to the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. We express our deepest respect!

At this moment, we pay profound tribute to the memories of revolutionary veterans such as Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Liu Shaoqi, Zhu De, Deng Xiaoping, and Chen Yun, as well as to comrade Jiang Zemin. We also deeply honor the memories of revolutionary martyrs and patriots who selflessly dedicated themselves to national independence, the liberation of the people, and the prosperity and happiness of the nation and its people. Their great achievements for the nation and its people will be forever etched in history! Their noble spirit will eternally reside in the hearts of hundreds of millions of people! We adhere to the principles of intellectual emancipation, seeking truth from facts, adapting to the times, and pragmatism. We focus on revealing and applying truth in resolving social contradictions, testing and developing truth in practice, and constantly guiding new practices with new theories to ensure that the cause of the Party and the people moves in the right direction.

—Deeply rooted in the people, our Party has always maintained a solid base. Our Party understands that the nation is the people and the people are the nation, adheres to the principle of serving the public and governing for the people, consciously practices the fundamental purpose of serving the people wholeheartedly, and firmly stands alongside the people, thinks with them, and works with them, thereby possessing a solid foundation that no storm can shake.

China’s development is currently in a period where opportunities and strategic risks coexist, and where uncertainties and unpredictable factors are increasing. We must be prepared at all times to overcome the most significant tests, even the most turbulent ones. In this new phase, the entire Party must strengthen its awareness of potential dangers, adhere to fundamental thinking, promote a fighting spirit, improve its resilience, better coordinate internal and international affairs, align development with security, and perfect its capabilities to scientifically foresee changes, swiftly detect risks, and effectively respond to challenges, thereby ensuring that the great ship of Chinese rejuvenation sails steadfastly and far, overcoming all obstacles.

—With unyielding confidence and persistent efforts, we must steadily promote the construction of a community with a shared future for humanity. As the changes occurring once a century accelerate, the world has entered a new period of turbulence and transformation, and humanity finds itself once again at a crossroads. On this new path, we must follow the will of the people and the general trend, uphold the banner of peace, development, cooperation, and mutually beneficial results, promote common values for all humanity, advance the construction of new types of international relations, and promote the implementation of global development, security, civilization, and governance initiatives, thus injecting more positive energy into global peace and development.

—With unwavering confidence and perseverance in the struggle, we must consistently drive the comprehensive and rigorous governance of the Party. The comprehensive and rigorous governance of the Party is an endless path. On this new journey, we must fully implement the Party-building thought for the new era, meet the general requirements for Party-building in the new era, focus on improving the Party’s long-term governance capacity, maintain its advanced character and purity, and preserve its close ties with the people. We must refine the Party’s comprehensive governance system, decisively wage a long-term battle against corruption, and continuously strengthen the Party’s political leadership, ideological orientation, mass mobilization, and social appeal, ensuring it remains a solid core of leadership in the historical process of defending and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. Comrades and friends! A strong nation must have a strong army, and only a strong army can guarantee national security. In this new phase, we must fully implement the Party’s thought on strengthening the military in the new era, apply strategic military guidelines for the new era, maintain the absolute leadership of the Party over the People’s Liberation Army, steadfastly follow the path of building a strong army with Chinese characteristics, comprehensively promote political building, reform, science and technology, talent development, and rule of law in the military, advance the high-quality modernization of national defense and armed forces, achieve the centenary goals of the People’s Liberation Army on schedule, accelerate the transformation of the People’s Liberation Army into a world-class military, and resolutely safeguard national sovereignty, security, and development interests and contribute further to the maintenance of global peace and development. Promoting the long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong and Macao is an inherent requirement for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. In this new stage, we must fully, accurately, and unwaveringly implement the principles of «one country, two systems,» «the people of Hong Kong govern Hong Kong,» «the people of Macao govern Macao,» and a high degree of autonomy; implement the principles of «patriots govern Hong Kong» and «patriots govern Macao»; improve the effectiveness of governance in Hong Kong and Macao in accordance with the law; promote the economic and social development of Hong Kong and Macao; and support Hong Kong and Macao in better integrating and contributing to the overall development of the country. Resolving the Taiwan issue and achieving the complete reunification of the homeland is an unavoidable historical task of our Party and the common aspiration of all sons and daughters of China. We must rigorously implement the Party’s general strategy for resolving the Taiwan issue in the new era, adhere to the principle of one China and the 1992 Consensus, unite with the great majority of compatriots in Taiwan, deepen exchanges, cooperation, and integrated development across the Strait, firmly suppress separatist forces advocating for «Taiwan independence,» oppose external interference, and resolutely promote the great cause of national reunification. Comrades and friends! Youth is the vital force for achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. The entire Party must value, nurture, and support the youth, creating conditions for their growth and development. In this new era, Chinese youth must firmly listen to the Party and follow its example, set ambitious goals, courageously take on the responsibilities of the times, integrate their personal aspirations into the Party’s and the country’s cause, seize every moment, treasure their youth, succeed in the historical relay race on this new path, and pave the way with their youth, letting their ideals shine!

Comrades and friends! The glorious history of the Chinese Communist Party’s 105 years is a source of pride, but we must never fall into complacency or stagnation. By mid-century, we will have built a modern socialist country in every respect and achieved the goal of the second centenary. Time waits for no one! History waits for no one! All Party members must remain faithful to our original aspiration and keep our mission in mind; we must be modest and prudent, work hard and diligently; we must dare to fight and be able to do so; we must support and unite with the peoples of all ethnic groups in the country to advance on a new path, contribute in a new era, and strive to create new historical glories.
