The assessment of the first 100 days of Kast’s administration dominated digital conversations with two distinct narratives: one that praises a «change in direction» and record investments, and another that highlights the rising cost of living—including fuel prices, budget cuts, and the prospect of tax reform—alongside a lack of results in public safety. Among those evaluating the situation, nearly 58% express negative views.
This tension is compounded by allegations of ethical impropriety within the coalition itself: alleged conflicts of interest linked to Minister Daniel Mas (Ecomac-Minvu contracts) and Minister Iván Poduje (El Olivar case), under the notion of a «business cabinet» and «double standards.» These accusations circulate widely in discussions, with several cases currently being reviewed by the Comptroller’s Office.
However, the most discussed topic was the case involving 64 Haitian children: more than 102,000 mentions and a profound emotional charge. The police agency located the minors and ruled out human trafficking, while the discourse shifted to assigning blame to previous governments.
The report emphasizes an underlying political fact: the disappointment after 100 days is not solely found among opponents; it also brews among supporters, which strains the government’s foundation.
The insights come from the third report of the Digital Narrative study, a collaboration between Factoría Pública, Interpreta, and Factor Crítico, which combines extensive social listening, artificial intelligence processing, and expert curation.
