More than 60,000 children from Gaza have lost their father, mother, or both due to the genocide caused by the Israeli military aggression, according to the most recent official report presented by the Ministry of Health of the Palestinian enclave.

The figure, which totals 60,737 orphaned minors, was published on Wednesday, July 29, and covers the period since the onset of the war in October 2023, confirming the human cost of the ongoing bombings unleashed by the Zionist regime on the child population in the Palestinian territory.

The report’s breakdown reveals that the vast majority of these children, precisely 52,095, have suffered the death of their father. Furthermore, 5,929 minors have witnessed their mothers being killed, and in the most extreme cases, 2,713 children are completely orphaned after losing both parents.

The extent of the destruction is not limited to individual victims but also includes the obliteration of 2,276 family units that have been erased from the civil register. These groups, consisting of a total of 8,858 people, represent the demographic devastation caused by the military actions of Benjamin Netanyahu’s regime.

The northern Gaza Strip, particularly the Governorate of Gaza, which houses the capital, is the epicenter of this tragedy, accounting for nearly 50% of all orphans of both parents in the enclave. In this area, the numbers are especially alarming: 19,700 children lost their father, 2,083 lost their mother, and 1,075 are without either parent, as reported by TeleSUR.

The intensity of the assaults in this area, which has been the main stage of the Israeli ground offensive, explains why orphanhood peaks here, followed by other regions such as northern Gaza, Khan Yunis, the central area, and the virtually uninhabited Rafah in the extreme south.

Despite the implementation of a ceasefire agreement in October 2025, violence has not ceased and Israeli armed forces continue incursions and bombings, which have added between 1,100 and 1,209 more deaths to the already staggering victim count.

According to official figures from the Ministry of Health of the Palestinian enclave, the total number of fatalities since October 7, 2023, exceeds 73,300 people, while international organizations have documented that this war has generated one of the most severe humanitarian crises of the century, with the massive destruction of hospitals, schools, and infrastructure, and the forced displacement of over 90% of the 2.3 million inhabitants.
