Original article: 100 días y la promesa del orden se le cae a Kast: 49% dice que su gobierno ha sido peor de lo esperado
Just over 100 days into the administration of José Antonio Kast, the latest Criteria Agenda survey has revealed that the far-right leader’s electoral promise of restoring order is unraveling. There is a prevailing critical assessment of his government, with nearly half of respondents indicating that the performance has been worse than expected.
The opinion study, published on Sunday, assessed citizens’ perceptions regarding the 14 weeks that Kast has been in office, starting from his inauguration on March 11. The results showed that 49% believe his performance is «worse than expected», while 32% stated it is «as expected» and only 14% considered it «better than expected».

The survey, conducted on June 21 via an online panel, also asked respondents about their views on the state of order in the country during Kast’s government. The findings indicated that 36% believe the country is «more disorderly than before»; 34% feel it is «the same as before»; while 26% view it as «more orderly than before», and 4% indicated they «don’t know».

These results underscore a significant erosion of public confidence in Kast’s promise to «restore order,» which was a cornerstone of his electoral campaign. He vowed to construct border walls, strengthen law enforcement, and expel 300,000 migrants, though he later admitted that this was merely a «metaphor».
The Criteria survey revealed that the president’s approval rating remains at 39%, the same as in the previous measurement, while his dissatisfaction rate saw a slight change, dropping only one percentage point from the previous week, placing it at 51%.

Additionally, the opinion study—which included a sample of 802 individuals aged 18 and older from various socioeconomic levels across the nation—evaluated the emotions that citizens associate with their feelings about the year 2026. The results revealed that 39% reported feeling hopeful, a significant decline of 14 points since February; meanwhile, fear increased by 5 points, rising from 22% to 27% during the same period; sadness grew from 5% to 12%; disgust reached 5%, up from 4% previously; and anger surged by 5 points to also reach 5%, indicating a climate of increasing uncertainty regarding the country’s future.
