An American millionaire with a passion for hunting tragically lost his life after being trampled by five elephants in the jungle of Gabon, Africa. The incident was reported by the Daily Mail, which stated that the individual, 75-year-old Ernie Dosio, was attacked while hunting antelopes.
According to the report, Dosio owned Pacific AgriLands vineyard in California and had decades of experience hunting elephants, leopards, rhinoceroses, buffalo, and lions across Africa. In the United States, he had hunted nearly every species of wild deer.
«However, the luck of such a respected hunter ran out last Friday when he encountered a group of five female elephants with a calf in the Lope-Okanda rainforest,» the Daily Mail noted, emphasizing that African elephants are the largest land mammals, with females standing up to 12 feet tall at the shoulder, weighing nearly 4 tons, and capable of reaching speeds of up to 40 km/h.
The report further states, «The startled herd of elephants immediately charged at Mr. Dosio and his professional guide,» detailing that the elephants were «so well hidden among the dense foliage that they seemed to appear out of nowhere.»
«Feeling threatened, the elephants attacked instantly,» local sources indicated, noting that the professional hunter accompanying the American businessman was the first to be attacked and sustained severe injuries.
