Original article: Diputada Gazmuri evalúa denunciar a Poduje por Ley Karin: Asegura que ministro la está acosando por su rol fiscalizador en caso demolición de viviendas
Deputy Ana María Gazmuri (Humanist Action) announced that she is contemplating the filing of a complaint under the Karin Law against Housing Minister Iván Poduje.
The legislator, who is a member of the Housing Commission, claims that the minister has been harassing her for exercising her parliamentary oversight role in the case concerning the demolition of homes in Viña del Mar (El Olivar), directed by Poduje.
«The minister is harassing me, and that falls under the Karin Law. We will take appropriate measures,» Gazmuri stated on Monday, June 22, as reported by Radio Biobío.
The parliamentarian assured that the matter has already been reported to the Chamber and she is now evaluating the formal actions to be taken against the head of Minvu: «We are currently studying a complaint under the Karin Law against Minister Poduje, who has been harassing me. Harassing me personally due to these issues. That seems completely unacceptable to me.»
Gazmuri detailed that Poduje allegedly sent her «repeated messages» via WhatsApp after learning of her actions regarding the El Olivar case: «I am a parliamentarian who should not have to accept a minister messaging me for five hours straight on WhatsApp about matters that are inappropriate.»
«This kind of bullying is not acceptable. Ministers cannot come to intimidate parliamentarians,» emphasized Deputy Gazmuri.
We will continue to provide updates.
