The digital discourse surrounding the government faced a challenging week, characterized more by behavioral incidents than by public policy decisions.
The most striking incident involved a driver caught traveling at 264 km/h on Costanera Norte, who was released and had his identity protected by court order, later revealed to be a relative of the wife of the Minister of Security.
Among those who expressed their views, nearly 100% rated the situation negatively: the conversation interpreted it as a demonstration of impunity and a «double standard,» where power and influence allow individuals to evade consequences.
However, the most discussed topic, in terms of volume, was President Kast’s confrontation with a child in Villarrica: this incident generated over 27,500 mentions, with 86% of the opinions being negative. The prevailing narrative viewed the episode as an inappropriate loss of composure for someone in his position.
The report further highlights that discontent is also rising within the ruling party: a 9.4% unemployment rate and the debate over «hourly» employment are fueling disappointment among voters who supported Kast.
These insights come from the fourth report of the Digital Narrative study, a collaboration between Factoría Pública, Interpreta, and Factor Crítico, which merges extensive social listening, artificial intelligence processing, and expert curation.
