Pichilemu is gearing up for the upcoming FECOM 2026 (Community Audiovisual Content Fair), an event specifically designed to enhance the ecosystem of creators, local channels, and production companies with a territorial focus. This year’s program features a blend of technical training, discussions on public policy, and impactful documentary screenings.

The agenda is tailored to address the current challenges facing community communication, from financial sustainability to the safeguarding of journalistic practices.

Friday: Training and Community Engagement

  • Accreditations and Welcome: Kickoff with community engagement activities.
  • Journalism as a Protection Tool: A technical talk by Cesar Baeza Hidalgo focused on information rigor.
  • Visibility Strategies: A workshop on SEO and Meta tools for community voices, led by Nicolás Véliz Rojas.
  • Closing: Documentary showcase “Simply Francisca” by filmmaker Gonzalo “Chalo” Barría.
This event is made possible through funding from the FNDR 8% Community Fund of the Regional Government of Libertador General Bernardo O’Higgins and its Regional Council.

Saturday: Management and Public Policies

  • Master Class: Ethical use of AI and work tools with Ignacio Ruiz Álvarez in the morning.
  • Critical Panel CNTV: Chiara Saez Baeza and Jorge Avilés Rojas will examine the foundations of CNTV and the budgetary reality for community channels in Chile.
  • Security and Rights: Presentation by Reporters Without Borders (RSF) on safeguarding journalistic practices in territorial contexts.

Sunday: The Future of Territorial Fiction

  • Round Table: A discussion on the production of audiovisual fiction with community identity.
  • Associativity: Special participation of Paula Gálvez Díaz, representing the National Association of Community Channels.
The second edition of the Community Audiovisual Content Fair will take place this April 24, 25, and 26 in Pichilemu.

It is important to highlight that this gathering is made possible by funding from the FNDR 8% Community Fund of the Regional Government of Libertador General Bernardo O’Higgins and its Regional Council, reaffirming their commitment to the decentralization of culture and communication.
