LONDON.- On June 20, 2026, the historic Westminster Central Hall in London will host the International Anti-War Conference, a meeting aimed at creating a global response to escalating militarization policies, increased arms spending, and conflicts affecting various regions worldwide.
Organizers assert that humanity is at a critical juncture, highlighted by the ongoing war in Ukraine, the conflict in Palestine, and rising international geopolitical tensions. The announcement states that Western governments are promoting a rearmament process that diverts resources away from health, education, housing, and public services towards the military industry.
This initiative follows the conference held in Paris in October 2025, which attracted thousands of citizens, union leaders, peace activists, and representatives from social organizations. According to the organizers, the goal is to strengthen an international network capable of coordinating actions against war and promoting solutions based on cooperation among peoples.
The declaration distributed for the event condemns the rising military expenditure of NATO, the resurgence of proposals for mandatory recruitment in several European countries, and the impact such policies could have on future generations. It also argues that public resources should be directed toward improving the living conditions of the population rather than funding armed conflicts.
Key topics to be discussed during the event include advocating for peace, freedom of expression and protest, opposition to military recruitment, protection of social rights, and strengthening international solidarity among people affected by wars, sanctions, and intervention threats.
The organizers have extended an open invitation to workers, students, unions, social movements, peace organizations, and citizens from around the world to participate in the conference, which will start at 12:00 PM on June 20 in London.
Under slogans such as «Disarm and Raise Wages,» «Social Welfare, Not War,» and «Jobs, Not Mandatory Recruitment», the event aims to become one of the major international mobilizations for peace in 2026.
