Original article: Milei cada vez más complicado e implicado en escándalo $LIBRA: Nueva pericia detecta acuerdo por US$5 millones con Novelli

The $LIBRA cryptocurrency scandal continues to shake Argentine politics as new judicial evidence strengthens suspicions of a potential $5 million deal tied to the promotion of the digital asset. According to Perfil.com, businessman Mauricio Novelli allegedly manipulated documents from his mobile device detailing transactions involving this substantial sum linked to the launch of $LIBRA.
This technical report was prepared by the General Directorate for Investigations and Technological Support for Criminal Investigations (DATIP) at the request of prosecutor Eduardo Taiano. The document concluded that «the textual content was indeed present on the Apple Notes application of the device and that the user interacted with the note,» documenting actions such as “opening, editing, or modification.” The forensic analysis traced the file to February 11, 2025, just three days before the public launch of the digital token.
The note retrieved from Novelli’s phone included direct references to payments and actions attributed to the presidential circle. The text began with the phrase: “Hello friends, this is the final agreement discussed with H.” It went on to detail: “US$1.5 million in liquid tokens or cash as an advance”; “US$1.5 million in liquid tokens or cash = Milei announces Hayden Davis as his advisor on Twitter”; and finally, “US$2 million in tokens or cash = contract signed in person with Milei for advisory on blockchain/AI.” Forensic experts indicated that the images found “are automatically generated by the system as a result of user interaction with the Notes application.”
The judicial investigation is also examining the financial flow behind the launch of $LIBRA. Reports suggest that a portion of the funds moved by Hayden Mark Davis may have ended up in virtual wallets associated with Mauricio Novelli and Manuel Terrones Godoy. One of the financial transactions under scrutiny pertains to transfers made after meetings involving Davis, Novelli, and President Milei, including deposits that have yet to be identified by justice authorities.
Previous forensic analyses had already detected frequent contacts between Javier Milei, Mauricio Novelli, and figures close to the Argentine government, including Karina Milei and Santiago Caputo. According to Noticiero 9, the case file mentions “events compatible with content deletion,” in addition to partially recovered conversations that included symbols of deleted messages. Plaintiffs have even requested new interrogations, including that of the Argentine president and his sister.
The creator of $LIBRA, Hayden Davis, later acknowledged concentrating nearly $100 million following the project’s launch. In statements cited by Perfil, he described the situation as “a plan that went miserably wrong,” asserting that he withdrew funds after noticing suspicious market activity moments after the initial promotion. Davis also pointed out that the key players involved were “Mauricio” and “Manuel,” reinforcing the investigative line currently pursued by the Argentine prosecutor’s office.
Simultaneously, Argentine channel C5 Noticias has addressed the progress of the case under the headline “$LIBRA Case: Javier Milei Further Complicated | The Crypto Scandal Enters a Key Phase,” emphasizing that the case file is currently at one of its most sensitive moments due to the combination of digital evidence, financial transfers, and deleted communications that could redefine the political and judicial implications of the case.

While the new forensic report does not conclude the investigation, the information added to the case file has reinforced suspicions of a prior agreement before the launch of $LIBRA and increased pressure on the Argentine presidential circle. Authorities continue to gather evidence to clarify whether there were economic benefits, political ties, and direct responsibilities behind the cryptocurrency’s collapse.
