Security Dominates Citizen Demands, While Majority Express Pessimism Over Progress Made in the First 90 Days of Management

The government is set to face its first public account amidst challenging circumstances, characterized by a citizenry demanding concrete responses on security and expressing skepticism about the fulfillment of commitments made during its initial 90 days. This is revealed by the latest GPS Ciudadano survey, conducted by Datavoz, which analyzed public expectations and perceptions just days ahead of the presidential message on June 1.

The study shows that the primary concern among respondents is security and organized crime, cited by 52.7% of those surveyed. Moreover, there is a strong demand for tangible results: 37.3% expect the President to provide clear targets and deadlines during his address. The call for concrete actions is particularly strong among young people aged 18 to 34 and individuals aligned with right-wing sectors.

One of the focal points of the analysis is the so-called “mixed law,” an initiative that has managed to enter public debate, albeit unevenly. 41.8% of respondents claim to have heard a lot about the project, a percentage that significantly increases among politically engaged individuals and older adults. However, knowledge drops considerably among young people, where it only reaches 24.8%.

The survey also highlights a profound division regarding this legislative proposal. While 35.4% express support for the initiative, 37.3% express opposition. This divide is strongly influenced by political identification: among those on the right, support reaches 78.6%, while rejection among those identifying with the left is at 85.1%.

The main concerns related to the project focus on its potential economic and social impacts. 27.5% believe the law could benefit large companies more than families, a concern especially prevalent among younger individuals and left-wing sectors. The study concludes that polarization is not only due to ideological differences but also to generational gaps and varying levels of political engagement.

Regarding the evaluation of the first 90 days of the government, negative perceptions overwhelmingly prevail. The highest distrust centers on the government’s ability to improve public order and security, precisely the issues leading citizen priorities ahead of the public account. High levels of skepticism are also present regarding addressing the housing deficit and auditing the previous administration’s management.

The conclusions drawn by Datavoz-GPS Ciudadano warn that the Executive arrives at this republican milestone facing a combination of challenges: a fragmented citizenry regarding priorities, a controversial flagship initiative, and growing distrust in the government’s ability to meet its goals.

The survey, conducted between May 19 and 26, 2026, on a sample of 1,148 individuals, concludes that security has become the primary benchmark by which the government’s conduct will be evaluated in this first public account.
