Original article: Manouchehri y propuesta de parlamentarios PS: “Chile debe crecer, pero crecer para todos”
This Friday, members of the Socialist Party visited La Moneda to present an alternative proposal to the government focused on the country’s development and growth regarding the miscellaneous bill promoted by the Executive. This initiative has faced criticism for primarily benefiting the wealthiest sectors without ensuring real job creation or economic growth.
In this context, Deputy Daniel Manouchehri remarked, «Socialists are convinced that the country must grow, but it must grow for everyone. The government is proposing exclusive benefits for the richest 1%, without requiring investment, employment, or better salaries. That’s why we have come here to La Moneda to present the President with a serious proposal for a Chile that grows for all.»
In this vein, the legislator representing the Coquimbo Region added, «We ask the President to withdraw his project, remove its urgency, and let’s seriously discuss a law that promotes economic growth, improves employment, and ensures livelihoods for everyone.»
The proposal from the PS lawmakers is structured around three main axes: first, immediate relief for families’ finances, addressing issues like debt, access to food, medications, technology, housing, and rent; second, job creation focused on women, youth, and training for the unemployed; and third, a genuine growth and economic development agenda that supports small and medium enterprises (SMEs), strengthens industry, encourages innovation, and invests in education to tackle the technological revolution.
In this regard, Manouchehri stressed that the proposal will translate into concrete suggestions during the legislative process. «We have a serious proposal regarding development and economic growth, focusing on job creation and emphasizing strong support for women, youth, the unemployed, marginalized regions, and those most in need, with measures for both now and the future,» he stated.
The document was presented by deputies Daniel Manouchehri, Nelson Venegas, César Valenzuela, Juan Santana, Carolina Cucumides, Emilia Nuyado, Andrea Macías, Francisco Crisóstomo, Raúl Leiva, Antonio Rivas, and Marcos Ilabaca, along with senators Daniella Cicardini, Danisa Astudillo, Gastón Saavedra, and Alfonso De Urresti.
