The approval rating for President José Antonio Kast has fallen to 33.3%, according to the latest Pulso Ciudadano survey for the first quarter of April 2026. Disapproval has reached 53.3%, marking the highest level since he took office, while 13.4% of respondents expressed uncertainty.

For the first time since assuming the presidency, the level of public trust in President Kast was measured. The research indicates a significant decline from the December 2025 figures, where 36.0% expressed high or full confidence in him; currently, that number has dropped to 24.6%.

Awareness of the Cabinet

The average awareness of the cabinet has risen to 34% in April Q1, up from 30.2% recorded in March Q2, indicating increased media presence of the ministerial team, according to the report.

• Iván Poduje, Minister of Housing: 46.4% positive evaluation
• Claudio Alvarado, Minister of the Interior: 45.7% positive evaluation

Private Lunch at La Moneda: 46.5% View it as Serious

President José Antonio Kast hosted a private lunch with approximately 70 former university peers at the La Moneda Palace. Most citizens rated this event as serious: 46.5% consider it very serious or serious, while 31.8% regard it as somewhat serious or not serious, and 21.7% classify it as neither serious nor not serious.

Beyond perceptions of the lunch’s seriousness, citizens were asked about the use of the Presidential Palace for the President’s personal activities, given that he currently resides at La Moneda. 47.4% disagreed with such use for personal purposes; 30.9% agreed, and 21.7% did not express a position either way.

The report highlights the distinction between living at La Moneda (41% in agreement) and using the Palace for personal activities (only 30.9% in agreement), indicating that the public largely accepts the presidential residence while opposing its use for private social engagements.

Miscellaneous Law Proposal Divides Public Opinion

The Kast Administration plans to present the Congress with a «miscellaneous law» proposal, suggesting simultaneous changes across various sectors—taxes, economy, reconstruction—in a single legal text to be voted on together. Public opinion is divided: 35.4% disagree with the use of miscellaneous laws; 32.7% agree, while 31.8% remain neutral.

National Broadcast: 55.6% Exposure and Slightly Positive Feedback

On Wednesday, April 15, President José Antonio Kast conducted his first national media broadcast. 55.6% of surveyed individuals reported having seen, heard, or read the presidential message, while 44.4% were not exposed to it.

Among those who followed the broadcast, the overall feedback was slightly positive, with 40.5% positively evaluating the presidential announcements.
