Security During Kast’s Administration: Deputy Secretary Defended Gang Involved in Carjackings in Santiago
A report from Mega has revealed that Ana Victoria Quintana, the current Deputy Secretary of Crime Prevention under Kast’s government, defended a gang involved in carjackings and robbery incidents in western Santiago in 2023.
The criminal group, known as ‘Los Emprendedores’, was dismantled last year by the PDI. According to the television report, these individuals were charged with offenses including money laundering, criminal association, robbery with intimidation, receiving stolen goods, extortion, forgery of public documents, possession of firearms, and tax-related crimes, among others.
According to Mega’s report, Deputy Secretary Quintana took on the defense of two members from one of the ‘clans’ associated with the criminal gang, who were the children of the organization’s leader.
«Quintana provided representation during their formal charges,» the note from the channel indicates, adding that the deputy secretary also defended a foreign national accused of violations of the Gun Law in an incident that took place on April 27, 2023.
