Original article: Mesa del Senado anuncia «fast track legislativo» para priorizar agenda de seguridad del Gobierno
Key projects like the Rules on the Use of Force (RUF), immigration control, and enhanced security in educational settings will be part of the initiatives that the Senate committee will prioritize through a «fast-track legislative» process.
This information was revealed following a meeting involving Senate President Paulina Núñez, Vice President Iván Moreira, and Security Minister Trinidad Steinert.
According to the Senate’s official release, various bills were reviewed during the meeting, focusing on a broad range of issues from the migration crisis to on-the-ground operations, addressing some of the community’s primary concerns.
Following the meeting, Senator Núñez emphasized that the committee seeks vital coordination as co-legislators to expedite the processing of urgent projects.
In this regard, she announced plans to meet with the General Secretariat of the Presidency (Segpres) to discuss the necessary urgencies related to these initiatives, allowing the Senate to organize and prioritize matters that the community expects with certainty, as stated by the parliamentarian.
The agenda also includes progress on the project regarding the Rules on the Use of Force (RUF), which awaits the formation of the Mixed Commission to address the discrepancies surrounding this initiative.
We will continue to provide updates.
