The re-elected senator of La Araucanía and president of the Christian Democratic Party, Francisco Huenchumilla, has publicly announced his support for candidate Jeannette Jara in the upcoming election on December 14. He explained that his decision is driven by a vision of a country that prioritizes security and economic development while deeply respecting social rights, firmly rejecting arrogance, classism, and intimidation.
Huenchumilla criticized the proposal to withdraw $6 billion from the national budget, arguing that such a move would severely impact healthcare, housing, and education for the most vulnerable populations. He called for a government that fosters dialogue and enforces the law justly, without infringing upon citizens’ basic rights.
Finally, Huenchumilla extended an invitation to the public to support this vote as a means to initiate a new process of change in Chile, one characterized by tranquility and peace for all.
