Original article: Sondeo: Mara Sedini, Natalia Duco y Jorge Quiroz son los ministros con mayor percepción negativa en redes sociales
A study conducted by agency SOUL revealed that Ministers Mara Sedini (Segegob), Natalia Ducó (Sports), and Jorge Quiroz (Finance) have the worst digital perception on social media, registering negative sentiments of 56.6%, 53.6%, and 47.5%, respectively.
In contrast, the ministers with the most favorable digital perception were María Jesús Wulf (Social Development), Daniel Mas (Economy), and Iván Poduje (Housing), achieving positive sentiments of 62%, 52.2%, and 46.2%, respectively.
According to SOUL, the monitoring captured digital conversations surrounding José Antonio Kast’s cabinet during its first month in office (March-April 2026), accumulating and classifying 2,582 relevant mentions that collectively generated over 32 million views and 1.3 million interactions in the digital ecosystem.
«By comparing the three evaluations SOUL has conducted since the cabinet announcement, a clear evolution can be observed. During both the ministerial announcement and the leadership transition, the negative sentiment reached 41%. In the first month of management, that negativity decreased to 22.1%. However, positive sentiment stood at 25.1%, with neutrality dominating at 52.8%. The country neither approves nor disapproves: it observes,» stated the communications agency.
Regarding the topics mentioned, the survey detailed that conversations were primarily focused on management and public policy (36.8%), controversies and scandals (20.1%), and ministerial profiles and backgrounds (10%), confirming that citizens continue to evaluate the cabinet on a name-by-name and portfolio-by-portfolio basis.
In first place, Mara Sedini (Segegob) garnered the highest volume of mentions and interactions within the cabinet, with a 56.6% negative sentiment compared to a 24.8% positive sentiment.
Next is Natalia Duco (Sports), who recorded a 53.6% negative sentiment and only a 10.9% positive sentiment, with over 2.3 million views.
Finally, Jorge Quiroz (Finance) accumulated a 47.5% negativity against a 23.8% positivity, surpassing 3.6 million views.
SOUL points out that, in Sedini’s case, «her role as the government’s visible face keeps her at the center of polarization,» while regarding Duco, they noted, «a month later, her appointment continues to generate sustained rejection.» Concerning Quiroz, they highlighted that «discussions about economic policy and fiscal adjustment shaped his conversation.»
A noteworthy aspect for the agency is the situation of Minister of Public Security, Trinidad Steinert, who—during the cabinet announcement—was noted for receiving the most positive reception: 50% neutrality and 30% positivity.
However, this has since changed: her negativity has risen to 42.4% compared to a 20.8% positivity. «On-the-ground security management seems to have quickly eroded the initial capital of her technical profile,» SOUL stated.
«The first month confirms what we observed during the leadership transition: Chile does not grant a honeymoon phase to anyone,» declared Óscar Marcos, managing director of SOUL, adding that «the decline in negative sentiment does not indicate approval, but rather a citizenry that has transitioned from emotional rejection to cold scrutiny.»
«Ministers who build reputation—like Wulf, Mas, or Poduje—do so through visible management and a low media profile. Those in crisis are the ones where the controversy surrounding their appointment has not been replaced by results. In social media, either you communicate management, or others define the conversation,» concluded Óscar Marcos.
