The ceasefire in the Gaza Strip exists more on paper than in reality, as official figures starkly confirm. The press office of the Palestinian enclave has documented 3,465 violations by Israel of the ceasefire agreement signed with the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), which came into effect on October 11, 2025. This number highlights the fragility of a truce that has failed to halt military operations against the civilian population.

The ongoing aggressions perpetrated by the Zionist regime have had a devastating human cost, resulting in 1,045 martyrs and 3,380 injured in the nearly nine months since the agreement. Additionally, 113 Palestinians have been arrested, a practice accompanying the military offensive that deepens the total siege on the Gazan population.

According to reports from Al Mayadeen, the last 24 hours have proven no exception, with four new civilian deaths and eight injuries recorded at hospitals in the enclave, demonstrating that bombings and ground incursions remain a daily reality despite signed commitments.

Israel Permits Only 36% of Humanitarian Aid into Gaza

Beyond projectiles and arrests, another major battle being fought in Gaza is the fight for access to life through humanitarian aid, where breaches are equally flagrant. Of the 156,000 trucks scheduled to enter the territory as part of the truce agreement, only 55,539 units have crossed the border checkpoints, representing a mere 36% compliance rate. This figure serves as the most tangible evidence that the blockade remains firmly in place, restricting the flow of essential food, medicine, and fuel for a population struggling for survival amidst the rubble of a war that has already lasted over two years.

The Israeli noncompliance also extends to the movement of people, another fundamental pillar of the ceasefire intended to alleviate the isolation of Palestinians. According to the cited media outlet, since the reopening of the Rafah land crossing, the occupation has only authorized the exit of 8,016 travelers out of a total 21,800 who were supposed to transit, a restriction that keeps thousands of families separated and patients unable to receive medical treatment abroad. This quota and filtering policy exacerbates the mobility crisis, making each journey an exceptional permit, effectively denying the fundamental right to free movement.

Over 73,000 Civilians Killed in Gaza Since October 2023

The global context of these figures cannot be divorced from the magnitude of the aggression that began on October 7, 2023, as the total death toll illustrates a genocide. Since that date, total statistics have risen to 73,058 martyrs and 173,488 injured, a figure that positions this conflict as one of the bloodiest in recent history. The paper truce, rather than being a turning point towards peace, has become a scenario of attrition where the numbers speak louder than words. Daily violations and insufficient aid portray the image of an occupation using the ceasefire as a smokescreen to perpetuate its control and offensive against the Gaza Strip.
