The Santiago Jazz Club, recognized as the oldest of its kind in Latin America, has announced an extensive and remarkable schedule of activities for the coming months, solidifying its role as a key venue for the promotion, education, and community engagement surrounding this musical genre in Chile.
Located in the historic Casa Maroto, the club continues to strengthen its position as a musical epicenter with a lineup that includes concerts, thematic cycles, and international events, along with its ongoing educational efforts through its Ensemble Creation Center.
According to Rodrigo González, president of the Santiago Jazz Club, «the importance of keeping the Santiago Jazz Club alive is immense, as we carry on a tradition that spans over 80 years. The club is 83 years old and is one of the oldest in the world.»
«We are guardians of a deep-rooted tradition and, in a sense, we embody cultural heritage, particularly as we provide a platform for classic styles such as Dixieland, while remaining open to new proposals, new performers, and creators,» González added.
He emphasized that «the stage of the Santiago Jazz Club remains a beacon in some way, and it is our interest to maintain that tradition of a nonprofit cultural corporation, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and aiming to provide a space for all musicians and jazz enthusiasts.»
Among the highlights of this season at the Santiago Jazz Club are:
Additionally, throughout the year, the club maintains a stable concert program from Tuesday to Sunday, with shows starting at 9:00 PM (and Sundays at 7:00 PM), including double performances on Fridays and Saturdays.

Founded in 1943, the Santiago Jazz Club has been a pivotal venue in the genre’s history in the region, hosting international icons such as Louis Armstrong, Herbie Hancock, Wynton Marsalis, and Paquito D’Rivera, among others.
After a period of relocation following the 2010 earthquake in Chile, the club established its permanent home at Casa Maroto, a historic building constructed in 1920, where it currently shares space with the La Fabbrica restaurant.
In addition to its artistic programming, the club operates an ensemble creation center for jazz enthusiasts at all levels, offering classes and fostering the development of new audiences and musicians.
The Santiago Jazz Club is a nonprofit corporation located at Av. Ossa 123, in the La Reina district, with direct access from the Plaza Egaña Metro station and parking available at Mall Plaza Egaña.
