Recent accounts from debtors of the State-Guaranteed Loan (CAE) reveal that the General Treasury of the Republic has completely emptied their bank accounts to collect debts.
One complainant shared, «The TGR drained my entire salary from my checking account for CAE collection. They left my account at zero for the rest of the month.»
The affected individual further stated, «I went to the treasury, and they told me there is no way for them to return my money.»
Another testimony was provided to The Clinic: «The problem is that I was left with nothing right after I got paid,» reported Ignacio Vigouroux, who discovered his accounts were empty when attempting to make a purchase using his debit card. Read the full article here.
Meanwhile, representatives from the Treasury emphasized that this plan «is part of the actions aimed at recovering public resources that the TGR has implemented concerning delinquent CAE debtors, using the tools provided by current legislation.»
In a statement, they noted that «foreclosures on real estate are added to other collection measures already applied by the institution, such as the seizure of financial assets subject to collection procedures.»
They also reminded that foreclosure «is a measure intended to ensure compliance with an outstanding obligation and, if the debt remains unaddressed, the procedure can continue to the judicial auction of the seized property, in accordance with current legal regulations.»
